Rani Rao, MD

Description

Rani Rao, MD, CMD, FACP, CPE, is a primary care physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Queens and is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. She has a special interest in medical ethics, long term health care, and ambulatory care.  Dr. Rao focuses on the management and prevention of chronic conditions and how adults can cultivate a healthy and active lifestyle to improve their health status. She treats a wide range of conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, diabetes, hypertension, stroke and heart disease, with a collaborative and comprehensive care approach. Dr. Rao served her internship at Cook County Hospital and completed her residency at Saint Joseph Hospital/Northwestern University, in Chicago, Illinois. Fellowship-trained, Dr. Rao completed her geriatric fellowship at VA Hines and Loyola University Medical Center and a fellowship in clinical medical ethics at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She is fluent in both Telugu and Hindi.
